Willis of Ohio employees celebrated the company’s recent move to Grandview Yard with a ribbon cutting ceremony Feb. 16.
Willis moved into the office building at 775 Yard St. in December. The company relocated its offices from Upper Arlington.
Willis of Ohio is a division of the global risk management and insurance broker Willis Group Holdings. The central Ohio division employs 95 people.
“It’s been a wonderful move for us,” said regional partner Frank McKain. “One of the main things that attracted us to come here was the opportunity to be an anchor tenant and be on the ground floor of an exciting development like Grandview Yard.”
Moving to the Yard gives Willis “much more exposure” and a more dynamic location that will benefit its clients and employees, McKain said.
“We looked at every major office facility around Columbus” before deciding that the Yard was the obvious location, he said.
“We’re very excited to be in Grandview,” McKain said.
Having such a prominent and enthusiastic new tenant for the Yard will help bring more attention and attract other businesses to the development, said Patrik Bowman, the city’s director of administration and economic development.
The company brings a large number of employees and sizable payroll to the city, he said.
Willis now occupies most of the second floor at 775 Yard St. The building’s other tenants include M + A Architects, Holbrook & Manter CPAs, Weber and Associates, the Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill, Jason’s Deli, Schindler Dentistry and Massage Envy Spa.
The company has about 100 offices in the United States and 400 worldwide.
