Grandview Yard Residents,

The Stefanie Spielman Step Up for Breast Cancer 5K run/walk supporting breast cancer awareness and research is on Sunday, October 2. The event begins at the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center on Olentangy River Rd. at 9:00 a.m. and is anticipated to conclude by 10:30 a.m.

A portion of the course includes select roadways within Grandview Yard. Temporary road closures are planned to begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday to accommodate the 1,000 participants, including:
• Yard St. (between W. 3rd Ave and Burr Ave.)
• Burr Ave. (between Yard St. and Northwest Blvd.)
Please note, if parked along Yard Street, you will not need to move your vehicle however, access will be limited during the event.
Residents to the north of Burr Avenue can access W 3rd Avenue via Bobcat Avenue. Residents to the south of Burr Avenue can access Goodale Blvd via Yard Street or Bobcat Avenue.
All streets will reopen following the conclusion of the race. Grandview Yard resident parking garages will remain open and accessible.

You may hear motorcycle noise as race participants progress along the race route Sunday morning, we appreciate your understanding.

Grandview Yard residents,

The inaugural Grandview Yard Quarter Marathon & 5K run/walk event is at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 28 throughout Grandview and downtown Columbus. The event start and finish will take place at Ray E. DeGraw Park in Grandview Yard. Please be aware there will be amplified sound during the event and increased pedestrian traffic in the area the morning of Sunday, August 28.

 

To accommodate the nearly 1,000 participants, there are temporary road closures planned for Grandview Yard and the surrounding roadways along the event course, including:

  • First Ave. (between Bobcat Ave. and Yard St.), beginning Saturday, August 27 at 8:00 a.m. and reopening by 11:30 a.m. Sunday, August 28.
  • Yard St. (between W 3rd Ave. and Goodale Blvd.) and Goodale Blvd. (between Bobcat Ave. and Olentangy River Rd.), beginning early the morning of Sunday, August 28 for setup and reopening by 10:30 a.m.

Grandview Yard resident parking facilities will remain open throughout the event. For access in and out of Grandview Yard, we recommend using W 3rd Ave. via Bobcat Ave. or Rail St.

 

If vehicles are parked along Yard St., we recommend moving them by 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27.

We wanted to take this opportunity to notify you of a few exciting events happening in Grandview Yard, some of which will include road closures and impact parking options within the neighborhood. Please see below for additional details. 

 

Saturday, June 4 – Columbus Beer Run

Hofbräuhaus Columbus and Fun Runs, LLC is hosting the Columbus Beer Run, a 2-mile fun run/walk in Grandview Yard benefiting the Pink Ribbon Girls. To accommodate the event and nearly 1,500 participants, portions of Rail St., Williams Ave., and Yard St. will be temporarily closed between 9:30 am and approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 4. The event will start and finish at Hofbräuhaus Columbus. Main arteries into Grandview Yard including Northwest Blvd., Bobcat Ave., Yard St., and Goodale Blvd. will remain open and accessible. Sunday, June 5 – Pilates in the Park

Club Pilates invites you to join a special outdoor mat Pilates class on Sunday, June 5. The hour-long class will begin at 9:00 am at Ray DeGraw Park, followed by local vendor samples. We are excited to announce that the Yard Club Pool will be opening soon!  We have a tentative opening date of Friday, May 20th!

The pool season will be different this year, as we will no longer require reservations or scheduled sessions.

Instead, pool passes will be provided to each Yard Club member. Members are current lease holders or homeowners with an executed Yard Club agreement. If there is more than one person in your household, passes for each Yard Club member will be provided to the 1st person who arrives with their photo ID to complete the necessary paperwork and retrieve the pass(es). Please be sure to keep passes secure. If a pool pass is lost, stolen or misplaced a replacement fee will be issued as outlined in your paperwork.

Each Yard Club member will be required to show a pool pass to enter the pool area. Passes should remain in the members possession during their visit for verification purposes. A single-guest per household is permitted and welcome to the space when accompanied by a Yard Club member.

To streamline the distribution process, pool passes may be picked up between 9:30 am and 6 pm on the dates designated to each residential building below:

  • May 3 – 6  Keystone, Condo Owners (Homes on Pullman Way, M/I Homes at Grandview Yard, 828 at the Yard)
  • May 9 – 13  Dorchester, Kipton, Junction
  • May 16 – 20 Baldwin, Porter, Pullman, Brooks, Manchester

Should the date and time your building has been scheduled conflict with your plans, please give us a call and we will further assist you.

2022 Season pool hours are Monday – Sunday 10 am to 10 pm, weather permitting.

Attention Residents,

The Columbus Crew home opener is this Saturday, February 26. The Nordecke fan group will host a pre-game tailgate celebration in Grandview Yard, and residents are welcome to attend.

The event will take place along Baldwin Drive adjacent to the Yard Club. Event set-up will begin at 9:30 a.m. with celebratory activities beginning around Noon and concluding with a March to the Match ahead of the 3:30 p.m. match start time.

A portion of Baldwin Drive will be closed during the event starting east of Brooks Way to Rail Street. Brooks Way will remain open to allow resident and guest access into the Brooks and Yard Club parking facilities. All other streets and garages will remain open and accessible. Please see attached event map for reference.

NOTE: In order to accommodate the event, on-street parking on Baldwin (from Brooks Way to Rail Street) and the surface parking area across from the Yard Club will be closed starting Friday night until the conclusion of the event on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.  If you are currently parked in the spaces marked in BLUE or YELLOW on the attached map, we respectfully ask that you move your vehicle before 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

The 2021 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon takes place this Sunday, October 17 throughout downtown Columbus. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. in downtown Columbus with the start and finish both taking place at the intersection of Neil Ave. and Long St. along North Bank Park.

Please be advised that a small portion of the marathon event comes through the north end of Grandview Yard around mile 22. You can expect most of the 5,000 marathon participants to come through Grandview Yard between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

To accommodate race participants, there will be temporary road closures in and around Grandview Yard on Sunday. Roads will reopen as the last participants pass through the area so please plan accordingly:

  • First Ave. from Grandview Ave. to Bobcat Ave.
  • Bobcat Ave. from First Ave. to Third Ave.

All parking garages will remain open and accessible. For access in and out of Grandview Yard, we recommend using Goodale Blvd. to Yard St. or Rail St.

Celebrate the season at the City of Grandview Heights Fall Fest on Thursday, September 30, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Grandview Heights Parks and Recreation presents this free family-friendly event at Ray DeGraw Park in Grandview Yard. The onsite event activities include live music, food trucks, yard games, and more!

A temporary one-way closure is planned for eastbound First Ave., between Bobcat Ave. and Yard St. from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on September 30. Grandview Yard parking garages will remain open and accessible.

The 2021 Central Ohio Heart Walk supporting heart health takes place this Saturday, August 21 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Temporary Road Closures will begin on Friday, August 20 at 9:00 a.m and will reopen on Saturday, August 21 by 1:00 p.m.

Access to the Arena District parking garages will remain open and accessible. For access in and out of the Arena District, we recommend using Neil Ave. to Nationwide Blvd. or entering from Front St.

A portion of the event will occur on Long St., Spring St. and at McFerson Commons. We have included additional road closure information below to assist you with your travel plans.

Road closures in the area on Friday and Saturday are as follows:

  • West St. from Marconi Blvd. to Nationwide Blvd.
  • Spring St. from John McConnell Blvd. to West St. (curb lane closure only)

Road closures for Saturday, August 21 from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.:

  • John McConnell Blvd. from Spring St. to New Public Ln.

Locally owned and family-operated, Habaneros Fresh Mexican Grill has opened their newest location at 1105 Yard St. in Grandview Yard. Habaneros Fresh Mexican Grill offers authentic Mexican street-style food and drinks, specializing in street tacos, tequila-infused drinks, and mezcal. Dine-in, carry-out, and delivery options are available. Be sure to check them out and support your newest neighbor!

We are excited to welcome the Arena District’s new neighbor, The Columbus Crew, in a few short weeks! Kicking off the team’s presence in the District is the Black and Gold 5k race taking place on Sunday, June 27 at 8 AM! Registration is still open and begins at $40 for the Black & Gold 5K OR $65 for the Black & Gold 5K + Match Ticket (Upper End Line ticket to the Sept. 14 match against the New York Red Bulls) at the New Crew Stadium!
